No. 10 Women's Wrestling Tops Missouri Baptist in Senior Night Dual

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 11, 2026)- The No. 10 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team hosted Missouri Baptist in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual, Wednesday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex. The Vikings won eight of the weight classes, and finished with a 38-10 victory.

 

103 pounds: Freshman Janessa Avila (St. Clair, Mo.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 5-0.

110 pounds: Junior Raquel Garcia (Wilmington, Calif.) lost to No. 19 Deyton Young in a first period (2:34) pin.  Dual is tied, 5-5.

117 pounds: Sophomore Sarah Pineda (Perris, Calif.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 10-5.

124 pounds: Sophomore Jaylenn Hudlemeyer (Excelsior Spring, Mo.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 15-5.

131 pounds: Junior Chase Kiel (Kansas City, Mo.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 20-5.

138 pounds: Senior Mystyque Anderson (Kansas City, Mo.) lost to No. 9 Zoe Fries in a 12-0 technical fall.  Missouri Valley leads, 20-9.

145 pounds: Senior Brooke-Lynn Rush (St. Joseph, Mo.) defeated No. 17 Maggie Ortmann in a 10-7 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 23-10.

160 pounds: No. 15 Junior Maria Slaughter (Wentzville, Mo.) defeated Cara Cheng in a first period (0:59) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 28-10.

180 pounds: No. 7 Senior Autumn Perez (Dodge City, Kan.) defeated No. 14 Kenlee Fish in a first period (2:31) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 33-10.

207 pounds: Junior Hollie Hedgpeth (Cameron, Mo.) won by forfeit.

Missouri Valley defeated Missouri Baptist, 38-10.

 

Exhibition Match:

160 pounds: Freshman Mya Willis (Wildwood, Mo.) defeated Talia Reed in a first period (2:28) pin.

 

Missouri Valley improves to 6-4 in duals while Missouri Baptist falls to 1-9.

 

Up next, the Viking women's wrestling team will compete at the Baker (Kan.) Open, Saturday, in Baldwin City, Kan.
