No. 10 Women's Wrestling Drops Road Dual at No. 2 Grand View
Des Moines, Iowa, (Jan. 15, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's wrestling traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Thursday evening. The No. 10 women's team won three matchups, but fell to No. 2 Grand View, 34-15. The No. 13 men's team fell to No. 1 Grand View.

103 pounds: Freshman Janessa Avila (St. Clair, Mo.) lost to No. 4 Isabelle Apple in a 10-0 technical fall. Grand View leads, 4-0.
110 pounds: Junior Raquel Garcia (Wilmington, Calif.) lost to No. 4 Tristan Nitta in a first period (1:02) pin. Grand View leads, 9-0.
117 pounds: No. 10 Sophomore Zao Estrada (Bluffton, S.C.) defeated No. 7 Cailin Campbell in a 10-0 technical fall. Grand View leads, 9-4.
124 pounds: No. 16 Sophomore Isla Baeza (Orem, Utah) lost to Catie Campbell in a 13-2 technical fall. Grand View leads, 13-5.
131 pounds: No. 16 Freshman Gwendolyn Jewell (Orange, Calif.) lost to Isabella Silva in a first period (1:31) pin. Grand View leads, 18-5.
138 pounds: No. 4 Junior Serenity De La Garza (McAllen, Texas) defeated Madyson Gray in a second period (3:30) pin. Grand View leads, 18-10.
145 pounds: No. 5 Sarina Bertram (Platte City, Mo.) lost to Sofia Delgado in a second period (5:43) pin. Grand View leads, 23-10.
160 pounds: Freshman Mya Willis (Wildwood, Mo.) lost to No. 6 Nicole Olson in a first period (2:43) pin. Grand View leads, 29-10.
180 pounds: No. 7 Senior Autumn Perez (Dodge City, Kan.) defeated No. 9 Andjela Projovic in a second period (5:02) pin. Grand View leads, 29-15.
207 pounds: Junior Hollie Hedgpeth (Cameron, Mo.) lost to No. 6 Selena Mares in a first period (1:52) pin.
Grand View defeated Missouri Valley, 34-15. The Vikings drop to 3-4 on the season in duals.
