No. 16 Women's Wrestling Tops No. 17 St. Mary in Takedowns for the Troops Home Dual

Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 11, 2025)- The No. 16 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team hosted No. 17 University of St. Mary (Kan.) in the Takedowns for Troops Dual, Tuesday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex.  The Vikings pulled out a close win, by a final score of 24-23.

103 pounds: Freshman Janessa Avila (St. Clair, Mo.) lost to No. 6 Destiny Jones in a first period (2:00) pin. St. Mary leads, 5-0.

110 pounds: Missouri Valley left the weight class open. No. 2 Alexsys Jacquez won by forfeit. St. Mary leads, 10-0.

117 pounds: No. 16 Freshman Ashtyn Sagely (Broken Arrow, Okla.) lost to Madison Kalamau in a 10-0 technical fall. St. Mary leads, 14-0.

124 pounds: Missouri Valley left the weight class open. Ka'aulani Hew-Len won by forfeit. St. Mary leads, 19-0.

131 pounds: St. Mary left the weight class open. Senior Mystique Anderson (Kansas City, Mo.) won by forfeit. St. Mary leads, 19-5.

138 pounds: St. Mary left the weight class open. No. 4 Junior Serenity De La Garza (McAllen, Texas) won by forfeit. St. Mary leads, 19-10.

145 pounds: No. 20 Senior Sarina Bertram (Platte City, Mo.) defeated Allison King in a 10-8 decision. St. Mary leads, 20-13.

160 pounds: Freshman Mya Willis (Wildwood, Mo.) lost to Talyn Naylor in a 3-2 decision. St. Mary leads, 23-14.

180 pounds: St. Mary left the weight class open. No. 14 Senior Autumn Perez (Dodge City, Kan.) won by forfeit. St. Mary leads, 23-19.

207 pounds: St. Mary left the weight class open. Freshman Alissa Castro (Prairia Grove, Ark.) won by forfeit.

Missouri Valley defeats St. Mary, 24-23.

Up next, the Viking women's wrestling team will travel to Lamoni, Iowa, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual against Graceland (Iowa), Thursday at 7 p.m.
