Marshall, Mo., (Sept. 17, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College women's volleyball team traveled to Lamoni, Iowa, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference match with Graceland (Iowa), Saturday afternoon.  The Vikings swept to a win by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-20.

The first game started with Graceland gradually building up a lead.  The Vikings trailed by a 5-3 score, then at 10-7.  Sophomore Outside Hitter Olivia Randolph (Columbia, Mo.) put down one kill to help close the gap down to 11-10, but the Yellowjackets eventually stretched their advantage out to 14-10.  The two teams traded points as Junior Middle Hitter Stacy Maimur (Chicago, Ill.), Freshman Outside Hitter Rylee Adams (Odessa, Mo.) and Senior Outside Hitter Juliana Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) each had one kill, with the deficit sitting at 19-14.  Missouri Valley began to work back from there, helped by a block from Oliveira and Senior Middle Hitter Kinga Romanowicz (Krepiec, Poland) along with an ace from Sophomore Setter Kellen Fitzgerald (Frisco, Texas).  Four-straight points for MVC included one kill by both Oliveira and Randolph to send the team in front, 21-20.  Maimur put down two kills to give the Vikings game-point, and a Graceland error capped a 25-22 win for Missouri Valley.

The Yellowjackets again jumped in front at the start of the second game, with a 7-3 score.  The Vikings answered to win five of the next six points, as both Randolph and Adams finished off one kill, and Junior Setter Clarissa Dias (Praia Grande, Brazil) put down an ace, to bring an 8-8 tie.  Junior Right Side Laura Tavares (Merida, Venezuela) added back-to-back kills to put MVC on top, 10-9, and the two teams traded points over the next stretch of play.  The Yellowjackets eventually tied the teams late in the game, at 18-18, but Missouri Valley took control from there.  The Vikings won six of the next seven points, as Oliveira had two kills and an ace while Romanowicz and Adams each finished off one kill to make it game-point.  Another GU error finished the game at a 25-20 score, and gave Missouri Valley a 2-0 lead in the match.

Going for the sweep in the third game, Missouri Valley went out to win five of the opening six points.  Randolph landed two kills, while Oliveira and Adams each added one kill to put the lead at 5-1.  Graceland gradually worked down its deficit, and eventually went in front, 13-12.  The two teams traded points as the Vikings were unable to pull in front, with GU ahead at 18-17.  Missouri Valley put together a late run, winning four-straight points featuring two kills by Randolph, one kill from Oliveira and an ace by Fitzgerald to move ahead, 21-18.  The game closed with MVC winning four of the final five points.  Oliveira and Randolph had one kill, then an ace by Senior Libero Ana Franco (Cascais, Portugal) closed a 25-20 win in the game, and a sweep in the match.
