Track & Field Teams Compete at the Heart Indoor Championships

Maryville, Mo., (Feb. 21, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams competed at the 2026 Heart Indoor Championships in Maryville, Mo., Friday and Saturday.  Leading the men's team was Freshman Luke Mosley (Jefferson City, Mo.), who placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 4.30 meters.  In the women's team, three Vikings placed ninth in their event.

Men's Results:

Freshman Luke Mosley (Jefferson City, Mo.): placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 4.30 meters.

Xavier Adams: placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.56 meters.  He also finished 18th in the long jump with a distance of 5.80 meters.

Sophomore Steven Mills (Kansas City, Mo.): placed 12th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.46.  

Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.): placed 12th in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:38.17.  He also finished No. 17 in the one mile run with a time of 4:51.04.

Junior Terrill Davis (Lamar, Mo.): placed 14th in the long jump with a distance of 6.08 meters.  He also finished No. 14 in the triple jump with a distance of 12.74 meters. 

Freshman Daniel Menefee (Ellisville, Mo.): placed 15th in the one mile run with a time of 4:45.87.  He also finished No. 17 in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2.46.20.

Sophomore Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.): finished with a time of 8.84 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Sophomore Montique Griffiths (Maypen, Jamaica): placed 16th in the 600 meter dash with a time of 1:24.52.  He also finished with a time of 8.52 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

The 4000 meter distance medley relay team 'A' (Blaine, Griffiths, Anderson, Menefee) finished 12th with a time of 11:05.90.

The 4x400 meter relay team 'A' (Mills, Freshman Mason Anderson (Warsaw, Mo.), Blaine, Griffiths) finished eleventh with a time of 3:26.87.

 

Women's Results:

Senior Kali Brown (Smithville, Mo.): placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.18 meters.

Freshman Johanna Watkins (Wentzville, Mo.): placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.93 meters.  She also finished 12th in the high jump with a height of 1.46 meters.

Sophomore Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.): placed ninth in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:07.49.

Freshman Eniola Candice Alabi (Austin, Texas): placed No. 13 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.03.  She also placed 16th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.46, and finished with a time of 8.00 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Nyla Adams (St. Louis, Mo.): placed 15th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.22 meters.  She also finished with a time of 10.78 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, but did not qualify for the event final. 

Senior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): finished with a time of 10.29 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, but did not qualify for the event final. 

 

Next up, the Viking track and field teams will open their outdoor season at the Miner Invitational, set for Mar. 20, in Fayette, Mo.
