Track and Field Teams Produce Event Winner at Principia Relays

Elsah, Ill. (Jan. 31, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's track and field teams continued their indoor seasons at the Principia (Ill.) Relays in Elsah, Ill.  The men's team was led by Sophomore Montique Griffiths, who won the 60 meter hurdles, with a time of 8.48.  Leading the women's team was Freshman Eniola Candice Alabi, who placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.86. 

Men's Results:

Sophomore Montique Griffiths (Maypen, Jamaica): placed third in the 60 meter hurdles, with a time of 8.61.  He won the event final, with a time of 8.48.  Griffiths also finished fifth in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1.09.26.

Sophomore Steven Mills (Kansas City, Mo.): placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.04. 

Freshman Luke Mosley (Jefferson City, Mo.): placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 4.20 meters.

Xavier Adams: placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.49 meters.  He also finished 19th in the long jump with a distance of 6.03 meters.

Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.): placed ninth in the one mile run with a time of 4.42.14.

Freshman Mason Anderson (Warsaw, Mo.): placed ninth in the 300 meter dash with a time of 37.61.  He also finished with a time of 7.47 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Asah Bailey (Kingston, Jamaica): placed 12th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.38.  He also finished with a time of 7.16 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Hudson Drydale (Blue Springs, Mo.): placed 13th in the long jump with a distance of 6.20 meters.  He also finished with a time of 7.36 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Junior Terrill Davis (Lamar, Mo.): placed 15th in the long jump with a distance of 6.14 meters.  He also finished No. 15 in the triple jump with a distance of 11.80 meters.

Freshman Daniel Menefee (Ellisville, Mo.): placed 15th in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9.24.77.

Sophomore Harrison James (Kansas City, Mo.): placed No. 23 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.86.  He also finished with a time of 7.33 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Grant Supinski (Kenwood, Ohio): placed No. 23 in the shot put with a distance of 12.26 meters.  He also finished 25th in the weight throw with a distance of 12.22 meters.

Freshman Adrian Miles, Jr. (Biloxi, Miss.): placed 21st in the shot put with a distance of 12.69 meters.  He also finished No. 33 in the weight throw with a distance of 10.66 meters.

Freshman Angel Campos (Pharr, Texas): placed 28th in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10.37.96.

Freshman Jacob Wade (Jefferson City, Mo.): placed 35th in the shot put with a distance of 10.44 meters.  He also finished No. 40 in the weight throw with a distance of 8.38 meters.

Junior Jorge Munoz (Segovia, Spain): placed No. 42 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.72.  He also finished with a time of 7.78 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Sophomore Amardeep Basra (Houston, Texas): placed No. 31 in the 300 meter dash with a time of 39.66.  He also finished 44th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.84.

Freshman Bristol Sheetz (Winston, Mo.): placed No. 32 in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11.06.49.

Kevin Martinez: placed No. 61 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.87.  He also finished with a time of 7.78 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Misael Tellez (Laredo, Texas): placed No. 62 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.93.  He also finished with a time of 7.90 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Sophomore Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.): finished with a time of 8.82 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

The 4x200 meter relay team placed third with a final time of 1.35.75.

The 4x400 meter relay team 'A' placed seventh with a final time of 3:40.20.

The 4x400 meter relay team 'B' placed ninth with a final time of 3:44.88.

 

Women's Results:

Freshman Eniola Candice Alabi (Austin, Texas): placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.86.  She also finished with a time of 8.12 in the 60 meter dash prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

Freshman Nyla Adams (St. Louis, Mo.): placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.06 meters.  She also finished 9th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.14 meters.

Senior Kali Brown (Smithville, Mo.): placed sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.29 meters.

Freshman Johanna Watkins (Wentzville, Mo.): placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 10.22 meters.

Sophomore Jaedyn Smith (Tavares, Fla.): placed No. 22 in the shot put with a distance of 8.83 meters.  She also finished 29th in the weight throw with a distance of 8.98 meters.

Sophomore Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.): placed 27th in the one mile run with a time of 7.00.38.

Senior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): finished with a time of 10.73 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, but did not qualify for the event final.

 

Up next, the Viking track and field teams will continue their indoor seasons at the Bearcat Invite at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo., Feb. 6.
