Tennis Teams Both Top Freed-Hardeman in Home Matches
Marshall, Mo., (March 30, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's tennis teams hosted Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) in matches at Indian Foothills Park Saturday afternoon. Both teams came out with victories, as the men's team won 5-2, while the women's team came out with a 4-3 win.

No. 1-Senior Caratti (Novara, Italy)/Freshman Sergio Martinez lost to Merlon Bolema/Nolan Laduree, 3-6.
No. 2-Sophomore Alecson Deschamps (Blumenau, Brazil)/Freshman Alvaro Ruiz lost to Pablo Poleo/Theo Devals, 4-6.
No. 3-Freshman Ruslan Anurev (Novorossiysk, Russia)/Sophomore Alexis Diaz (Bordeaux, France) defeated Braden Young/Brayden Martin, 6-1.
Singles:
No. 1-Martinez lost to Bolema, 5-7, 6-7.
No. 2-Anurev defeated Poleo, 4-6, 6-2, 10-2.
No. 3-Diaz defeated Laduree, 4-6, 7-6, 10-4.
No. 4-Caratti defeated Devals, 6-2, 1-6, 10-4.
No. 5-Deschamps defeated Young, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 6-Ruiz defeated Martin, 6-1, 6-1.

No. 2-Freshman Hannah Brown (Marshall, Mo.)/Freshman Laura Moreno defeated Elise Kruzan/Kennley Kirk, 6-4.

No. 1-Martinez defeated Kruzan, 6-2, 7-5.
No. 2-Brown lost to Pearce, 6-7, 2-6.
No. 3-Casas lost to Brown, 2-6, 2-6.
No. 4-Junior Tristan Liebenberg (Hartbeespoort, South Africa) defeated Kirk, 6-1, 6-4.
No. 5-Moreno lost to Savannah Corbitt, 7-5, 6-7, 8-10.
No. 6-Missouri Valley won by forfeit.
The win moves the men's team to 5-5 overall, while the women's team improves to 4-6.
