With just over 25-minutes off the block, Missouri Valley earned a free kick about 35-yards from goal. Senior Midfielder Judit Ferre (Barcelona, Spain) passed the free kick to Senior Defender Marta Carrasco Mesa (Sevilla, Spain), and the shot by Carrasco Mesa from 30-yards out went into the top-corner of goal to make it a 2-0 advantage. Carrasco Mesa came close to adding another goal moments after the restart, and Arribas added another shot on goal near the 30-minute mark, but both shots were saved. The Vikings created one more late chance, as a shot from Ferre was saved with two minutes left on the clock, and the team went into halftime on top, 2-0.
The second half began with an early opportunity for Missouri Valley. A deflection at the top of the MBU box went to Senior Midfielder Carla Carmona (Barcelona, Spain). Carmona held possession, and sent a shot from outside the box past the keeper and into the net to make it a 3-0 score with two minutes played in the half. The Vikings continued to hold the better of possession, as shots from Flores and Sophomore Midfielder Fabiana Vasquez (Isla Margarita, Venezuela) were both saved through the 67-minute mark. Just over six minutes later, Flores sent a cross towards the center of the Spartan box, and Junior Forward Julia Richardson (Ashland, Mo.) put a volley attempt past the MBU keeper to extend the advantage to 4-0. The only shot on goal for Missouri Baptist came with less than nine minutes remaining in the contest, and was saved by Senior Goalkeeper Marina Barbara Bujalance (Cornella Llobregat, Spain). The Spartans played the final four minutes of the game down one player, and MVC added one more late goal. With three minutes on the clock, Senior Midfielder Serena Abe (Mesquite, Texas) stepped in front of a Missouri Baptist clearance attempt, and beat the MBU keeper with a shot from 25-yards away to cap scoring and give the Vikings a 5-0 win.
