Women's Lacrosse Picks Up Road Win Over Kansas State
On Nov. 2nd Missouri Valley College Women's Lacrosse traveled to K-State to play the Wildcats Women's Lacrosse team.
Play started with the Vikings moving the ball around to find 3 easy score for Sophomore Hailey Davis. After a few traded possessions the Vikings had the ball again and Freshman Perla Baker score off of a Hailey Davis assist. K-State score on a possession to end the first quarter 4-1.
The second quarter began with quick offensive possession where Perla Baker scored of of another Hailey Davis assist. K-state quickly scored again against the Viking defense. Possessions were exchanged through tough defense by both team until Senior Allexis Lark scored another goal as time expired on the half. 6-2
K-State came out of the half with 3 quick possessions and goals to take their first lead of the game at 7-6. The Vikings quickly controlled the ball on the next possession and Freshman Ainsley Miller scored off of an assist by Freshman Ashley Halter. The 3rd quarter ended in a 7-tie.
In the 4th quarter the Vikings settled into their offense and controlled possession getting 2 more goals from Hailey Davis, another from Allexis Lark, and Ashley Halter. After the run on points K-State score with 3 minutes remaining. The next possession was controlled by Freshman Ava Gram and after some nice offensive passing the Viking found Ava Graham in the 8 meter where she was found and she finished off the play and game with a final Viking score securing the win for MVC and making the final score12-8.
Up next for the Women's Lacrosse team is the University of Nebraska on Nov. 17th.
