No. 14 Men's Wrestling Defeats William Penn in Home Dual
Marshall, Mo. (Jan. 25, 2024)- The No. 14 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team hosted William Penn (Iowa) in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual Thursday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex. The Vikings won five of the weight classes to earn a 28-26 victory.
125 pounds: Missouri Valley left the weight class open. William Penn leads, 6-0.
133 pounds: No. 15 Freshman Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) defeated Lane Scorpil in a 18-2 technical fall. William Penn leads, 6-5.
141 pounds: No. 15 Junior Donavan Parn (Brookfield, Mo.) defeated Sabri Sino in a 17-1 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 10-6.
149 pounds: No. 3 Senior Chase Zollmann (Poway, Calif.) defeated Trent Evans in a first period (2:05) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 16-6.
157 pounds: Freshman Olson Anderson (Orting, Wash.) lost to No. 23 Kael Bunce in a 17-1 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 16-11.
165 pounds: Junior Jesus Gutierrez (Victorville, Calif.) lost to No. 18 Cameron Hargrove in a first period pin. William Penn leads, 17-16.
174 pounds: Freshman Jokiah Sewell (Mexico, Mo.) lost to Branson Bottorff in a 16-13 sudden-victory. William Penn leads, 20-16.
184 pounds: No. 23 Senior Drake Tipton (Grain Valley, Mo.) defeated Kaden Kaiser in a first period (0:35) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 22-20.
197 pounds: Sophomore Emanuel Ayi-Bonte (Woodbridge, Va.) lost to Jesse Schwery in a first period pin. William Penn leads, 26-22.
285 pounds: No. 6 Senior Joshua Isaac (Woodbridge, Va.) defeated Isaac Boucher in a first period (2:49) pin.
