Weightlifting Team Hosts Invitational Competition

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 28, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College weightlifting team hosted the second annual USA Weightlifting Viking Invitational inside the Burns Athletic Complex. Twelve Viking student-athletes and coaches competed, and two more qualified for University Nationals in April.

Trinity Maher, Freshman (Haines City, FL), 1st in the Junior 63 kg Division, Snatch 47 kg/ 103.62 lbs, Clean & Jerk 60 kg/ 132.28 lbs = Total 107 kg/ 235.89 lbs.

Madison Woodworth, Sophomore (Panama City, FL), 1st in the Senior 86 kg+ Division, Snatch 60 kg/ 132.28 lbs, Clean & Jerk 91 kg/ 200.62 lbs = Total 151 kg/ 332.9 lbs.

Earl Hollis Jr. Freshman (West Palm Beach, FL), 1st in the Junior 71 kg Division, Snatch 70 kg/ 154.32 lbs, Clean & Jerk 98 kg/ 216.05 lbs = Total 168 kg/ 370.38 lbs, qualified for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 9-12, 2026.

Corey Morabito, Junior (Lansdale, PA), 1st in the Senior 60 kg Division, Snatch 80 kg/ 176.37 lbs, Clean & Jerk 100 kg/ 220.46 lbs = Total 180 kg/ 396.83 lbs.

Ontarriyus Reid, Senior (Palatka, FL), 1st in the Senior 65 kg Division, Snatch 90 kg/ 198.42 lbs, Clean & Jerk  120 kg/ 264.55 lbs = Total 210 kg/ 462.97 lbs, requalified for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 9-12, 2026 in a different weight class.

Jedidiah Kracl, Sophomore (Crete, NE), 1st in the Junior 65 kg Division, Snatch 90 kg/ 198.42 lbs, Clean & Jerk  120 kg/ 264.55 lbs = Total 210 kg/ 462.97 lbs, requalified for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 9-12 in a different weight class.

Nick Martinez, Sophomore (Donna, TX), 1st in the Senior 79 kg Division, Snatch 85 kg/ 187.39 lbs, Clean & Jerk 123 kg/ 271.17 lbs = Total 208 kg/ 458.56 lbs.

Coach Jianping Ma 1st in the Master's 88 kg Division, Snatch 60 kg/ 132.28 lbs, Clean & Jerk 85 kg/ 187.39 lbs = Total 145 kg/ 319.67 lbs.

Nick Navara, Senior (Melbourne, AUS), 1st in the Senior 110 kg Division, Clean & Jerk 98 kg/ 216.05 lbs.

Noah Carr, Senior (Kissimmee, FL), 1st in the Senior 94 kg Division, Snatch 82 kg/ 180.78 lbs, Clean & Jerk 110 kg/ 242.51 lbs = Total 192 kg/ 423.29 lbs, qualified for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 9-12, 2026.

Coach Seth Williams 1st in the Open 94 kg Division, Snatch 92 kg/ 202.93 lbs, Clean & Jerk 120 kg/ 264.55 lbs = Total 212 kg/ 467.38 lbs.

Thomas Gearllach Sr (Palmdale, CA), 2nd in the Senior 88 kg Division, Snatch 100 kg/ 220.46 lbs, Clean & Jerk 125 kg/ 275.58 lbs = Total 225 kg/ 496.04 lbs.

The MVC Vikings Powerlifters have now qualified Audrey Schoch, Sarah Khamis, Karianna Sanchez, Desiree Alaniz, Delaney Welker, Presleigh Watson, Ria Gardner, Emily Andujo, Nicholas Ballard, Gabriel Pineda, Hannah Miller, Alexis Duenas, Caiden Sanford, Nicholas Moore, Matthew Nong, Myles Mobley, Abdelrahman Shehata Larbi, Malakai Meyer, Dakota Todd, Natulie Galvan-Vera, Sydnee Jackson, Norberto Garza and Logan Horton for the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals being held in New Orleans, La., on April 9-12, 2026.

The MVC Vikings Weightlifters have now qualified Jaden Lambert, Nick Martinez, Jedidiah Kracl, Madison Woodworth, Corey Morabito, Thomas Gearllach, Earl Hollis Jr., Noah Carr and Ontarriyus Reid for the USA Weightlifting University Nationals, held on April 9-12, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
