Needing a win in the third game to extend the match, the Spartans kept the teams close through a 7-7 score, but Missouri Valley won the next five points, as Tavares landed three aces and a kill to send the team on top, 12-7.  Missouri Baptist used three MVC errors to close the gap down through the next stretch of play, 16-13.  The Vikings used a solo block from Tavares and a kill apiece from Freshman Outside Hitter Bart Mulder (Hoogeveen, Netherlands) and Baptista to stay ahead, 20-16.  Points were traded through the rest of the game, as Baptista had the next three kills for the Vikings to put the Vikings at match-point.  A final error from the Spartans closed out the game at 25-21, and Missouri Valley swept the match.
