Track and Field Teams Compete at Outdoor Mule Relays
Warrensburg, Mo., (April 11, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Outdoor Mule Relays (Mo.), Friday, in Warrensburg, Mo. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions at the event. The men's team was led by Freshman Montique Griffiths, who placed sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.80. Leading the women's team was Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick, who finished seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:48.71.
Women's Results:
Sophomore Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.): placed seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:48.71. She also finished 27th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5.06.93, and placed No. 39 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.11.
Junior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): placed eighth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1.08.23. She also finished 30th in the 100 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 17.31, but did not qualify for the event finals, and placed No. 38 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1.03.90.
Freshman Aarion Pickens: placed 16th in the shot put with a distance of 11.90 meters.
Senior Paula Romero Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain): placed 17th in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.61meters. She also finished No. 33 in the discus throw with a distance of 32.22 meters.
Senior Samantha Bitz (Marion, Ill.): placed 19th in the pole vault with a height of 2.60 meters. She also finished 56th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.61, and placed 50th in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 13.82, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Junior Emily Lechuga (LaPorte, Texas): placed 21st in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1.00.29. She also finished No. 28 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.79.
Freshman Dimitria Sweet: placed 25th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.65. She also finished 37th in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 13.21, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Sophomore Isabella Kulenkamp (Warrensburg, Mo.): placed 27th in the hammer throw with a distance of 37.72 meters.
Senior Kylie Linson (Troy, Mo.): placed 30th in the hammer throw with a distance of 36.76 meters. She also finished No. 31 in the shot put with a distance of 10.20 meters.
Freshman Shaliah McKoy (Kingston, Jamaica): placed No. 53 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.10. She also finished 44th in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 13.46, but did not qualify for the event finals.
4x100 Meter Relay team 'A' (McKoy, Lechuga, Bitz, Sweet) placed sixth with a final time of 50.73.
Men's Results:
Freshman Montique Griffiths: placed sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.80.
Freshman Dante Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica): placed seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.81. He also finished 14th in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 10.93, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Freshman Marcus Evans (Jonesboro, Ark.): placed eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.69 meters.
Freshman Micah Mumford: placed 20th in the 110 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 16.03, but did not qualify for the event finals. He also finished 20th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.49.
Freshman Darius Thomas (Fort Worth, Texas): placed 22nd in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.21. He also finished 52nd in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 11.39, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Freshman Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.): placed 25th in the 110 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 16.35, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Freshman Amardeep Basra (Houton, Texas): placed 29th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.78.
Freshman Steven Mills (Kansas City, Kan.): placed 37th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.77. He also finished No. 49 in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 11.36, but did not qualify for the event finals.
Freshman Harrison James (Independence, Mo.): placed 44th in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 11.28, but did not qualify for the event finals. He also finished No. 50 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.19.
4x400 Meter Relay team 'A' (Griffiths, Mumford, Barsa, Gordon) placed seventh with a time of 3.22.62.
