Men's Soccer Remains Coaches' Poll Top Five
Marshall, Mo., (April 14, 2021)- The Missouri Valley College men's soccer team remains in the top five in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday.
The Viking men's soccer team stayed at No. 4 for the second-straight coaches' poll, and won its only match since the previous poll was released in late-March. Missouri Valley topped Park (Mo.) in the quarterfinal round of the Heart Postseason Championship, Saturday, 5-1. The team is 13-3-1 on the season.
Missouri Valley is one of three teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference ranked in this edition of the coaches' poll. Central Methodist (Mo.) remains at No. 1, and MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) moved up to No. 19.
The Vikings will host MidAmerica Nazarene in the semifinal round of the Heart Postseason Championship, Wednesday at 7 p.m., at Volney C. Ashford Stadium. The winner advances to the Heart Postseason Championship Final, Saturday against the winner of the Central Methodist/William Penn (Iowa) semifinal match.
Also, the NAIA announced earlier Wednesday that Missouri Valley will host opening round games of the 2020 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship in the Marshall (Mo.) Bracket, April 22 and 24. The four-team Marshall Bracket will be announced by the NAIA, Monday.
