Missouri Valley College Rodeo Competes in Third Go-Round at CNFR
Casper, Wyo., (June 12, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's rodeo team continued competition at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., Wednesday evening, with one third go-round performance.
Sophomore Kooper Heimburg (San Tan Valley, Ariz.) was the only Viking cowboy to compete in Wednesday's session, in bareback riding. Heimburg did not post a score in his third performance. In addition to the 64.5 first go-round score and 79.5 second go-round score, Heimburg has a 144 in the average, and currently sits in No. 13 place with two more nights of third go-round performances remaining. Heimburg has collected 65 points so far in the CNFR.
Up next, are three performances in Thursday evening's third go-round session. Senior Ty Pope (Waverly, Kan.) and Senior Tyler Freeman (Cadiz, Ky.) both compete in saddle bronc riding, and the pair of Senior Easton Kerby (Lancaster, Iowa) and Senior Nathan Pelke (Mondovi, Wisc.) have their team roping performance. Pope was No. 23 in the saddle bronc riding standings after the first two go-rounds, and Freeman was No. 26 overall. Kerby and Pelke did not register a score in either of the first two go-rounds of team roping.
Thursday's third go-rounds will start at 7 p.m., in Casper, Wyo., (8 p.m., Central time).
