Men's Golf Finishes Third Round Play at NAIA National Championship

Silvis, Ill., (May 14, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team continued play at the 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., with Thursday's third round.  The Vikings maintained their position in the top 15 after completing their rounds.

 

Leading the team in the third round was Freshman Felipe Suarez (Cordoba, Argentina) who was one of only ten golfers in the tournament to go under-par in the round, carding a -1 (69).  Suarez recorded three birdies, including the par-four 1st hole, par-four 14th, and the par-four 18th.  This is the first round under-par for Suarez so far in the tournament, after recording scores of +4 (74) and +5 (75) in the opening two days.  Going into the final round, Suarez is No. 23 in the standings with a total score of +8 (222), nine strokes back of first place.  

 

Freshman Joaquin Raminger (Buenos Aires, Argentina) followed with a +3 (73) in the round, which included birdies on the par-four 1st and par-five 2nd holes.  Raminger currently  sits with an overall score of +9 (223) after three rounds, which includes a +2 (72) in the first round and a +4 (74) in the second round. He enters the final round at No. 27 in the standings.

 

Sophomore Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) added a +3 (73) in the third round, and carded three birdies on the day.  Storrer birdied the par-three 7th, par-five 10th and par-three 12th holes.  Through three rounds of play, Storrer is No. 35 overall with a +11 (225), which includes the lowest round of a Viking player so far this tournament, recording a -2 (68) in the second round to go with a +11 (81) in the first round.

 

The final team scorer on the day was Senior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa) who finished with a +7 (77).  Coburn birdied the par-four 6th hole and currently sits at No. 69 overall with a +19 (233) after the round.  Coburn had a +9 (79) in the first round and a +3 (73) in the second round.

 

Playing for the first time in the tournament was Senior Nelius De Jager (Upington, South Africa) who finished with a +11 (81).  De Jager birdied the par-three 4th hole.

 

As a team, Missouri Valley stayed at No. 13 in the standings, with a total score of +47 (887).  Currently leading the tournament is Oklahoma City with a +20 (860) followed by Friends (Kan.) at +26 (866).

 

Final round play at the National championship for the Vikings begins at 9:40 a.m., at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
