No. 7 Men's Golf Opens Play at NAIA National Championship
Silvis, Ill., (May 12, 2026)- The No. 7 Missouri Valley College men's golf team opened play at the 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., with the first round Tuesday morning.
Leading the team was Freshman Joaquin Raminger (Buenos Aires, Argentina) who finished with a +2 (72) to place at No. 25 overall. Raminger carded two birdies in the round, at the par-five 10th hole and the par-five 17th hole. He sits four shots back of first place.
Freshman Felipe Suarez (Cordoba, Argentina) followed at +4 (74) to sit at No. 52 in the standings. Suarez recorded three birdies on the day. He carded those at the par-three 3rd, par-four 5th and par-three 7th holes.
Senior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa) came in at +9 (79), to sit at No. 125 overall, while Sophomore Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) finished with a +10 (80) to sit at No. 132 as the team scorers in the first round. Junior Leo Burger (Johannesburg, South Africa) added a +11 (81) to come in at No. 140.
As a team, Missouri Valley sits at No. 25 in the standings with a total of +25 (305). No. 8 Science & Arts (Okla.) leads the tournament with a first round score of +1 (281)
The Vikings will play the second round beginning at 12:50 p.m., Wednesday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. A cut will be made after the second round, with the tournament continuing Thursday and Friday.
