Men's Golf Captures First Place at Pioneer Prairie Classic

Andover, Kan., (Oct. 14, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team competed at the Pioneer Prairie Classic at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kan.  The Vikings finished first overall with a pair of golfers in the top four.

 

Leading the team was Freshman Felipe Suarez (Cordoba, Argentina) who finished on top of the leaderboard with a three-round score of -12 (201), capturing first place by six strokes.  Suarez shot under-par in all three rounds, with scores of -2 (69) in the first round, and -5 (66) in both the second and third rounds.  Following in fourth place was Senior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa) with a -3 (210).  Coburn was under-par in the first round, at -4 (67) and second round with a -2 (69).  Also finishing in the top ten was Junior Leo Burger (Johannesburg, South Africa), at No. 10, with a final score of +8 (221).  Sophomore Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) completed the team score with a +9 (22), which included an even-par (71) in the first round, to place at No. 13.  Junior Valentin Bosdari (Mendoza, Argentina) followed at No. 28 with a final score of +20 (233).

 

Two Vikings also played as individuals at the tournament.  Junior Sebastian Liffers (Heitersheim, Germany) came in eighth place with a final score of +6 (219), finishing with an even-par (71) in the third round.  Senior Dominic Hoskin (Witham, England) totaled a +15 (228) to place at No. 22.

 

Missouri Valley won the tournament with a final score of +1 (853), seven strokes ahead of NCAA Division II Newman (Kan.).  No. 5 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) was third with a +16 (868).  The Vikings finished two rounds under-par as a team.  In round one, MVC had the lowest score of the tournament at -4 (280) and followed with a -1 (283) in the second round.

 

Up next, the Viking men's and women's golf teams will close out the fall competition schedule with the Heart Conference Preview, Oct. 20-21, at Paradise Point in Smithville, Mo.
