Men's Golf Competes at Heart Championship

Overland Park, Kan., (April 15, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team played at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship, Monday and Tuesday at The Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate in Overland Park, Kan.  The Vikings finished sixth overall with three individuals in the top 20.

 

Leading the team was Junior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa), who placed at No. 13 overall with a three-round score of +21 (237), finishing 14 strokes back of first place.  Coburn's lowest score came in the third round with a +5 (77), and he was named to the Heart Men's Golf All-Conference Team for his play during the season and at the championship.  Freshman Mateo Cadario (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) followed at No. 15 with a total of +23 (239), while Freshman Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) placed at No. 17 with a +25 (241). 

 

Playing in the first round was Sophomore Sebastian Liffers (Heitersheim, Germany), who totaled a +13 (85), and Sophomore Valentin Bosdari (Mendoza, Argentina), who came in at +18 (90).

 

Sophomore Ryan Van Eyk (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) placed the second round at +11 (83), and finished at +13 (85) in the third round.  Freshman Nolan Gordon (Salisbury, Mo.) added a +7 (79) in the second round, and a +17 (89) in the third round.

 

In the team standings, Missouri Valley placed sixth with a total score of +102 (966).  MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) won the tournament at +39 (903) and Park (Mo.) was second with a +72 (936).

 

Up next, the women's golf team will compete at the Heart Championship, April 21-22 at The Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate in Overland Park, Kan.
