Men's Golf Competes at Virginia McCoy Invitational
Parkville, Mo., (Oct. 10, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team played this week at the Virginia McCoy Invitational at The Duece Golf Club in Parkville, Mo.
Senior Andrews Rueda de Leon (Tabasco, Mexico) and Sophomore Nelius De Jager (Upington, South Africa) both led the team with final scores of +4 (144). The pair shot rounds of +2 (72) both days, and finished fourth overall, two shots back of first place. Junior Cade Basson shot a +13 (153) to place at No. 27 and Freshman Shawn Glover (Syracuse, Utah) finished out the team scorers with a +29 (169) to place at No. 50. Freshman Cadyn Sava (Arlington, Wash.) shot a +39 (179) to place at No. 52.
As a team, the Vikings finished seventh overall with a final score of +42 (610). Park (Mo.) won the tournament with a +17 (585).
Up next, the men's golf team will compete at the Ranger Fall Invitational at Meadowlake Golf Course in Enid, Okla., Oct. 16-17.
