Men's Golfer Finishes Play at NAIA National Championship

Mesa, Ariz., (May 19, 2023)- Missouri Valley College men's golfer Freshman Mateo Quiroga (Canelones, Uruguay) finished play at the 2023 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at Las Sendas Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz., with his final round, Friday.

Quiroga opened play with a first round score of +2 (74), and followed with a -3 (69) in the second round to make the cut, and sit in the top ten going into the final two rounds.  He followed with a +5 (77) in the third round and a +4 (76) in the second round to finish with a final score of +8 (296) and place at No. 37 in the overall standings.  The individual champion shot a four-round total of -8 (280).

Quiroga finishes his season as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship individual champion, and both the Heart Men's Golfer of the Year and Heart Men's Golf Newcomer of the Year.
