Rocket League Team Splits Recent Contests

Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 9, 2021)- The Missouri Valley College eSports team continued its Rocket League competition season recently, and split a pair of matchups.

The Rocket League team of Freshman Grant Woltkamp (Kearney, Mo.), Freshman Kolby Smothers (Kearney, Mo.) and Freshman Kristopher Falcone (Lakeland, Fla.) continued the NACE StarLeague Challenger Division earning a 3-2 win in games over Milwaukee School of Engineering. The team then followed with a 3-0 loss in games to Kansas State.

In the win over Milwaukee School of Engineering, The Vikings fell in the first game 2-1, but bounced back to win game two, 2-1. Woltkamp scored the opening goal, and Falcone added the game-winner with five seconds remaining in the contest. After a 5-0 loss in game three, Woltkamp scored two goals in a 2-1 win to extend the contest. Falcone scored two goals in game five to lead the team to a 4-3.

Against Kansas State, Woltkamp, Smothers and Falcone all scored one goal, but fell, 5-3. In game two, the team forced overtime, with one goal each from Smothers and Woltkamp, but lost, 3-2. Smothers scored the team's only goal in a 3-1 loss in game three.

The Rocket League team is now 6-1 on the season.
