Baseball Suffers Road Loss at Columbia
Columbia, Mo., (April 15, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College baseball team traveled to Columbia, Mo., for a non-conference game against No. 24 Columbia (Mo.), Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings were led by Freshman Third Baseman Brennan Nickerson (St. Louis, Mo.) and Freshman Shortstop Rui Watanabe (Nagasaki, Japan) who both finished with one hit. Freshman Pitcher Colton Meyers (Orangefield, Texas) went 2.1 innings in relief, giving up four hits and one earned run with two strikeouts. Missouri Valley fell, 15-0.
The loss drops Missouri Valley to 11-27 on the season, while Columbia improves to 35-7.
Up next, the Viking baseball team will go on the road for a Heart of America Athletic Conference series, in Canton, Mo., against Culver-Stockton (Mo.), Friday and Saturday. Doubleheaders both days will start at 1 p.m.
