Men's Golf Team Set For NAIA National Championship

Marshall, Mo., (May 11, 2026)- The No. 7 Missouri Valley College men's golf team is set for play at the 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., beginning with Tuesday's first round.

The Viking men's golf team earned an automatic berth into the NAIA National tournament after capturing the Heart of America Athletic Men's Golf Conference Championship title last month at Paradise Point in Smithville, Mo.  Missouri Valley won the title with a three-round score of -9 (855), topping second place No. 24 Grand View (Iowa) by 12 strokes.

Leading the team going into the National tournament is Freshman Felipe Suarez (Cordoba, Argentina).  Suarez was the individual Heart champion, finishing the conference tournament with a three-round score of -10 (206) to win by four strokes.  Suarez was also named the Heart Men's Golfer of the Year, the Heart Men's Golf Newcomer of the Year, and was a Heart All-Conference selection.

Joining Suarez at the tournament will be two other Heart All-Conference performers.  Both Freshman Joaquin Raminger (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Senior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa) received all-conference honors.  Sophomore Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe), Senior Nelius De Jager (Upington, South Africa), Junior Valentin Bosdari (Mendoza, Argentina) and Junior Leo Burger (Johannesburg, South Africa) are also part of the National tournament team making the trip to TPC Deere Run.

This is the program's second all-time appearance at the National tournament.  The 2019 team finished No. 15 overall at the National championship.

Missouri Valley is one of three teams from the Heart at the National tournament.  Also competing will be No. 15 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) and No. 24 Grand View.  The tournament opens with first round play on Tuesday, and MVC will begin the round at 7:50 a.m.  The team will play its second round beginning at 1:10 p.m., Wednesday.  A cut will be made after the first two rounds, with the tournament continuing Thursday and Friday.
