Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Earns Weekly Heart Award

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 23, 2026)- A Missouri Valley College men's basketball student-athlete earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference for his play in two games last week.

Junior Devin Davenport (Milwaukee, Wisc.) was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, presented by WinWon Technologies.  Davenport led the Vikings in a pair of conference games last week.

In the 64-61 win against Baker (Kan.), Davenport finished with 19 points, four rebounds and three steals, and followed with 23 points and five rebounds in the game against William Penn (Iowa).  He averaged 21 points per game and shot 52-percent from the field.

This is the fourth weekly award for Davenport this season.  He earned the offensive award the weeks of Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, Jan. 26, and earned a National weekly award from the NAIA back on Dec. 9.

Up next, the Viking men's basketball team will play in the Heart Postseason Championship, going to Des Moines, Iowa, to play Grand View (Iowa) in the quarterfinals, Tuesday.
