Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Earns Weekly Heart Award

Marshall, Mo., (Jan. 26, 2026)- A Missouri Valley College men's basketball student-athlete earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference for his play in last week's victory over William Woods (Mo.).

 

Junior Devin Davenport (Milwaukee, Wisc.) was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, presented by WinWon Technologies, for his play in an 81-73 win over the Owls.

 

Davenport finished the game with 29 points, on 7 of 13 shooting from the floor, and went 12 for 12 from the free throw line.  He also added three assists and three rebounds.

 

Davenport is currently sixth in the NAIA in total points (453), ninth in points per game (22.6) and ninth in free throw percentage (.904).  He leads the Heart in all three categories.

 

This is the third weekly award for Davenport this season.  He earned the offensive award the weeks of Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, and earned a National weekly award from the NAIA back on Dec. 9.

 

The men's basketball team is currently tied for third in the Heart standings with an 8-4 record in conference play, and is 14-6 overall.  Up next is a Heart doubleheader against Missouri Baptist, Wednesday evening.  Women's game starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m., inside the Burns Athletic Complex.
