Women's Soccer Selected to Host National Tournament Games
Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 14, 2025)- The 40-team field for the 2025 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship was announced Friday evening, and the Missouri Valley College women's soccer team has been chosen as a top seed, hosting multiple games next week.
The Viking women's soccer team was selected as the No. 6 National seed, and enters the National tournament as one of only three unbeaten teams in the NAIA with an overall record of 16-0-4. Missouri Valley earned an automatic berth into the tournament field after Wednesday's 2-0 win at Central Methodist (Mo.) in the Heart Postseason Championship final.
Missouri Valley will host two National tournament games next week inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium. A first round game will be played Thursday at 2 p.m., between Spring Arbor (Mich.)/Holy Cross (Ind.). The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the second round, and play Missouri Valley at 12 p.m., Nov. 22. The second round winner will advance to the National site at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla., with the tournament resuming Dec. 1-8.
Spring Arbor enters the tournament with a 9-4-6 record and earned an at-large berth into the National tournament out of the Crossroads League. Holy Cross has a 10-6-3 overall record on the season and earned an automatic berth into the National tournament as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season champion.
Two other programs from the Heart earned berths into the National tournament. Joining Missouri Valley are Central Methodist (Mo.) and MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). During the regular season, the Vikings played a total of five teams that earned National tournament berths. The other three opponents were Oklahoma Wesleyan, Cumberlands (Ky.) and Columbia (Mo.). Missouri Valley finished with a 3-0-4 record in games against tournament teams.
The women's soccer program has qualified for six-straight National tournaments, and made seven appearances overall. The program is 4-4-3 all-time at the National tournament, which includes a National runner-up finish in 1991. Last season, the team defeated Truett-McConnell (Ga.) in the second round, 3-2, before falling to Keiser (Fla.) in the third round, 3-2 in overtime.
