Marshall, Mo., (April 19, 2023)- A Missouri Valley College men's golfer has earned a National award from the NAIA for his play last week. Freshman Mateo Quiroga (Canelones, Uruguay) has been named the NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week after winning the MVC Spring Invite played at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo., last week. Quiroga was eligible for the award after earning his third Heart of America Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week Award, Monday. Quiroga had a three-round score of -12 (204) to finish in a three-way tie for first place. He came in with two rounds under-par, including a -5 (67) in the second round and a -7 (65) in the third round, the lowest single round score of the tournament.
